Back in Leiden I could not have chosen a better country then the Netherlands to see the final on Sunday against Spain.

Het goede nieuws van enkele duizenden Nederlandse fans die afreizen naar Johannesburg om aldaar Nederland wereldkampioen te zien worden tovert een glimlach op mijn gezicht. Helaas zal niet iedereen het stadion inkunnen, aangezien de kaartjes voor de finale uitverkocht zijn. Een geweldig alternatief zijn de Fifa Fan Fests, waarvan er twee gestationeerd zijn in Johannesburg.

From 11 June to 11 July 2010 South Africa is hosting the FIFA 2010 Football World Cup. Thirty-two teams are taking part in the tournament and an estimated 2.7 million local spectators will view 64 matches played in nine stadiums around the country. In terms of the number of global viewers, the World Cup is the world's largest sporting event.
